Our main event this evening is mud and a bent step
The Bass family takes camping very seriously and we are passionate when it comes to some of our favorite locations. Well this season it seems our favorite location has been blocked off by some very large tractor and lots of gravel.
AND the adventures begins, Kevin and I brilliantly find another road in. This road, however, was not a road at all, (wishful thinking) but a little quad trail that was deceivingly muddy with ruts not meant for a truck pulling a trailer.
We decide at this time we have plenty of time to take the easy does it approach and so carefully pull our trailer down this "road". So I hop out of the truck and crawl, yes I said crawl, on the ground beside the trailer to ensure we don't loose a pipe to a muddy rut.
What we didn't think through was the fact that there are not two of me crawling along the ground on both sides of the trailer. Nor did we think that crunch sound could've been attached to the trailer. As it turns out we only made it half way down the road when we realized it truly was a quad trail filled with mud and we would have to back the beast up all the way down the road. To be Continued....
Exhibit A
Continued.....
The crunch I discovered was the step. To be continued again.
The step stayed bent the whole weekend while Kevin came up with ways to straighten out our little problem.
Sooooo......
On our last day Kevin and my dad hook up the tow rope around the step and to truck. The idea was to pull the step straight with the truck. I cringed as they tested this out. We are 3 hours from home and then pulling on the trailer while on its jacks, BRILLIANT. Scroll down for the end of this story.
Step FIXED!
AND you thought you'd see a mess of trailer sprawled everywhere didn't you?
