July looked a little something like this

We've been spending most of our time enjoying each other at the Cabbage, in the lake, with some new lake friends, and other new adventures.

Kevin has taken up water skiing, Logan wake boarding and tubing, mostly tubing, me sunbathing and boat napping and I make one heck of a driver for water skiers (or so I like to think).

We took the boat to town to check it out as well as take a bathroom break.  The water was beautiful.

Bye Bye Carpet!

Since our first basement water incident, our bedroom carpet has driven me crazy with it's musty smell so we spent some quality family time pulling it out.  It was work, but we had fun.  I felt like weight was lifted off my shoulders right away.  Logan enjoyed ripping and cutting and destroying as he pulled out the carpet.  As he put it "it's not very often you get to destroy things".  Wonder if he'll feel the same when we put the new flooring in.

When I was able to walk again (fell in the sump hole and sprang my ankle so badly that I hobbled with crutches for 3 days of our vacation) we headed to Westerner Days, which is like a mini-Stampede.  It was a hot and fun afternoon.  Basically our holiday was great, but we were very busy and didn't notice the week fly right by.

This past week was full of a new experience for Mr. Logan at Horse Camp.  I am so pleased that we can do this for Logan as he got so much out of this.

He was paired up with horse David or Logan says Dave for short.  Everyday Logan rode, fed, learned how to ride and take care of Dave.  He brought an apple treat for him daily and grew a special bond with his beautiful horse over the week.  Logan had a great time and cannot wait until next year when he wants to do this camp again.  Friday was family day so we got to see all that Logan had learned and meet his special horse and feed Dave the apples Logan brought with him.

Now for some good ol' camping.  We were reminded what we love so very much about this family favourite and what we disliked so much.  Love the family time, the outdoors, the nature, watching Titan hunt squirrels and bounce through the bush like a deer and for me the never ending opportunity to nap.  We dislike the rushed week of preparation and packing, the mosquitos, the parking of the trailer in the driveway and unpacking at the end of the trip, but we mostly dislike just how a weekend is never long enough.

This trip the boys built a lean to with wood, an axe and twine for much of the afternoon.  Kevin taught Logan how to do this and I am not sure who had more fun.  I will admit it was a beautiful lean to.
