Manuel Antonio National Park

The highlight of this area is Manuel Antonio National Park

Here is the beautiful beach and the monkeys

While we didn't get see the Howlers, we certainly heard them

and the Capuchin's did not disappoint as they arrived on the beach and played for a long time for us

The waters here are so calm that even Casey got so enjoy the water

as most of the beaches have large crashing waves

making for some fun boogie boarding and watching all the surfers, but also very dangerous so we must always be careful

wouldn't want to be caught in a rip tide (which happened last time)

Mr. Sloth was hanging from the tree right over our path looking down like this

little did we know on our previous trip the reason there were boats to take us across the very tiny canal that appeared shallow there was this croc living there

our last trip we assumed the little boats that cart you for $2 across the canal was a scam (it sort of is) so we trekked across without thinking a second about it

However, we learned quickly these boats are for high tide and are because of this croc living in the waters

I am just sitting on the log nursing Casey and suddenly there are two monkeys just hanging out right beside me

the little hermit crabs Logan snuck home from Manuel

don't worry we made him release them the next day back on the beach

More critters

the bug below is about the size of my hand and certainly the most interesting so far

Casey has been an absolute sweet heart during our entire trip so far

she has mostly been sleeping well and happy to lounge around completely carefree

while I think the heat has bothered her a bit here and there and she doesn't like bumping around on the gravel roads in her stroller, she has been great

we had taken her to the beach in the rain and she got sand on her face while snoozing under an umbrella 

Kevin and I were worried this sand could make it into her eyes so made the awful decision to pour fresh water over her face from a cup to wash it away

so very quickly, like pulling off a band aid Kevin dumped while I tilted her head ready to snuggle

Well, this didn't even cause her concern and she had no problems at all with the sand or the water

I don't think we could have been more blessed with such an easy going sweet little girl (whose growing by the minute)
