Many years camping starts on the Easter long weekend for these camping die hard fans, there have been years that were even too cold for us so we've missed a few.
This was not one of those years
It's one of our favourite times of the entire year to go - snow and all.
I've figured out why, other than it being a quiet time seeing as no one else is as crazy as we are...it's the best time because we have no expectations of what the weekend could possibly hold and we plan and pack for 3 out of the 4 seasons at every extreme, therefore there's no chance for disappointment and we are almost always warm and dry due to the overwhelming amount of weather appropriate clothing we bring.
This year, one might classify as warm, sunny and only minor snow fall and only cold if leaving the fire without a coat for an extended period of time. In other words, tropical for the time of year and there were no insane crazy antics this trip, well at least not by our standards.
(Other than perhaps Grant sounding the fog horn in time with the music, there's always that, but it's not crazy when it's purpose started out to scare the roaming Hangry bears off)
2012 was COLD and Wet and Snowy - perhaps the most extreme trip we've had to date
2013 was almost just as snowy and equally as muddy, but warmer and more crazy
The snow started

Also note all the wood in the background, the boys were busy preparing for Winter
Although the Easter bunny was going to make a visit at home this year, he also made a quick pit stop to the trailer with some small Easter surprises and Casey got her first Ring Pop.
